Thank you for your Christmas good wishes John and thank you for sharing your paintings and giving such pleasure over the year. As you know I have been enjoying The Road to the Sea series and this one is no exception. You seem to have been exploring the same or similar view through the veil of different weather conditions and colour palettes which is fascinating. As you know we bought a very special Christmas present of one of the series ‘Towards the Light’ which has a delicate lemon light over the horizon and pink tinged clouds – it is fantastic! In this one, the colour gives me a sense of one of those days when the cloud is low, the sky heavy with rain and the whole world turns grey into purple with a patches blue.
Hello Chris,
The pleasure has been all mine, it’s been lovely to have your’s and other people’s comments throughout the year. It great to hear that you are enjoying your own ‘Road to the Sea’ painting hanging on your wall. As you say this last piece is another exploration in colour and differing weather conditions one might find on the coast. Thank you very much
Thank you for your good wishes for Christmas John and thank you too for the pleasure you have given me through this blog throughout the year. As you know I have very much enjoyed The Road to the Sea series and I was fortunate enough to receive ‘Towards the Light’ as a joint Christmas gift and it now looks great on our wall with its delicate lemon horizon and pink tinged clouds. It seems that you have explored the same (or similar) scene at different times and in different weather conditions creating a variety of moods and colour palette. This latest one is no exception and I feel a heavy sky full of rain on a day when the world turns grey, purple and blue.; the power of colour!
