Here is my latest painting, very much in tune with the season.
Morning Mist and Bog Heather III●
30.4 cm x 30.4 cm x 2.5 cm, oil on canvas mounted on panel, ready to hang
High upon the tree-lined hill, the sun is rising. It’s the start of a new day breaking through the mist.
Even at first light, the heather glows warmly, leading our eye into the distance.
I wanted to create a piece that has a dreamlike quality, evoking this special time of year when the veil is thin.
Are we awake or not?
Is this reality or not?
I’ love to hear what you think.
Hello John, how lovely this is! The misty, somewhat ‘veiled’ impression, engenders a dreamy otherworldly atmosphere. The beautifully heather bed does indeed seem to glow in a wonderfully rich foreground colour. Not to be forgotten is the pale, milky lemon of the rising sun. Many congratulations on an imaginative, seasonal painting.
Thank you Chris for your lovely comment. I thought this might be a painting you might connect with
