View Across the Bay, ©John O’Grady, 2012
Oil on Panel, 5″ x 7″
This is a piece that evokes all the times I have waited for the train that hugs the Bay of Dublin to go into town.
Looking across the bay from the harbour of Dun Laoghaire, the clouds would skitter
across the sky in a never ending performance of light and shadow over the city of Dublin in Ireland.
I like this striking sky over Dublin Bay, John, (at least it reminds me of Dublin Bay, looking towards the Shelly Banks and Pidgeon House). I like the purple tones underneath the pink clouds, and also the patch of light over the water. I think you have a lovely way with colour. Keep on painting 🙂 eoin
thanks Eoin, bon voyage
I think there is a lot of drama in this painting John and once again, through the use of light, my eye is drawn to the horizon where human life and nature meet.
Thanks Chris,
interesting comment on where human life and nature meet. This is a memory piece, looking across to Dublin from Dun Laoghaire and seeing the magestic clouds changing the light on the city
