The Rising of the Moon, ©John O’Grady, 2013

A copse of trees, backlit by the rising moon provides a backdrop set against
the rich blue sky at twilight.
There is something special about the time around dusk when the world is quieter,
don’t you think?
I love the way moonlight casts light upon what it touches even though here, there
is an ethereal quality I accentuated with light grasses to counterpoint the darkness
of the background.
I’d love to hear what you think.
Although there is a still quietness about this painting the copse seems somehow alive in the silvery moonlight. The foreground provide superb contrast and allows us to feel we are peering through the grasses. Beautifully put together.
Thank you Chris for your lovely comment
