After the Rain ©John O’Grady, 2013

When it rains in Ireland, which it can do from time to time, the
water runs off the hills and across the bogland in a torrent.
The purple bog heather in full bloom carpets the landscape.
This is another painting where the bleeds and runs of the acrylic paint
gave me the freedom to respond in a freer way.
I will be doing a post with some images of a work in progress in the near future
to more fully explain this way of working.
I’d love to hear your comments on this piece.
That’s a beautiful painting John, you really get wonderful rich colours into the work. I look forward to seeing your ‘work in progress’ images. Whatever you’re doing, keep doing it! Eoin
Thanks Eoin I really appreciate the encouragement
I totally agree with Eoin in his use if the word beautiful. Congratulations John. There is a real sense of the rush of water in the way you have captured movement and colour.
Thank you Christine for your comment
