This nocturne of the Provençal village of Clansayes shows the illuminated medieval tower built by Knights Templar.
There is little light pollution and one particular cloudless summer night, I could see the milky way in all its splendour, smell the aromas of the wild flowers, herbs and lavender releasing their scents in the warm air.
It was a heady mix whose magic I tried to capture here.
I’d like to hear what you think.
Hi John
the opportunity to really see the stars away from other light is something we miss in Birmingham…anyway…we can however enjoy things like night scented stock etc even in urban areas….your painting however shows the best of both, almost a mirror type image of stars and flowers…….lovely!
Thanks Julia,
you are spot on, I was trying to balance the stars and flowers with the type of marks made, your comment is much appreciated.
regards John
