The moon is rising slowly into the sky and the mist forming on the hills is catching the last rays of sunlight as the day comes to an end.
Twilight has the feeling of being on the cusp of something but for a brief moment a magical thin veil is suspended between both worlds.
I am drawn to these uncertain moments and transient atmospheres.
Do you feel twilight is a special time?
Twilight does have a special atmosphere and I have often detected a stillness once the birds have all left the sky. I love the looseness of the brushwork in this painting John and the way you have caught the moment so well. The little flashes of moonlight on the top of the grasses brings it all to life.
Hello Christine,
Yes I think so too, of course this is the time when the birds are still and settling for the night, maybe they too are savouring the moment. Thank you for the comment on the painting I was quite happy with the light catching the tops of the plants
