On the Trail at Dawn, ©John O’Grady, 2013
Acrylic on Panel, 5″ x 7″
This is another painting of gorse bushes using acrylic paints this time.
When walking, your senses take in the gorgeous yellows of the plants and their characteristic smell
as well as the subtle colours of the land. Soon though, you can’t help but raise your head to find out what’s happening in the sky.
There is no really high land in Ireland and the Atlantic weather fronts succeed one another in a forever
changing ballet.
As a painter, I find working from memory a strength as I can concentrate on selecting the colours and
composition that best distill the mood of a landscape.
I’d love to read your comments.
I love these colours and the interesting textured effect is in keeping with the wild gorse.
Thanks very much Chris for your comment, work in progress!
