John O’Grady, Oil on Panel, 5″x 7″, 2012
The monastic site of Glendalough was founded in the 6th century by the shores of two lakes.
This is a view of the lower lake.
The monks have long gone, but the site remains. It is a popular place for tourists and
people taking a Sunday stroll.
Wonderfully expressive brushwork and gloriously rich colours – lovely John (you have Ireland in your soul)
John, this is very moody, atmospheric can almost see the monks of old the love the colours……….JULIA
Hi Julia, thanks for the lovely comment. Glendalough certainly has a special atmosphere
