What can I add to what you’ve written?
This makes my heart soar.
Hello Josephine,
Thank you very much, that is great to hear.
Hi John very good. It looks simple but it is really difficult to capture the mood and atmosphere of stormy waves. I have tried and failed miserably! Glad to see you have used a more landscape shaped board. I know you like a square format but this format suits you too! Also your colour palette is a bit different which makes this one stand out. Best wishes.
Hello Nigel,
I know what you mean about the long format and do like using it. The palette is a little quieter I think in this one which I agree makes the energy of the piece more forceful. I hope your own working is going along well Nigel.
regards
John
SOLD?????????????? Wow…I didn’t even get to lust over it for a second!!! What a glorious capture. In another life, I lived in Nova Scotia (the “rock bound coast”, as the song says). I used to love going out to a park called “The Ovens” where the sea had eaten large “blow holes” in the rock formations. My favorite time was during a storm. At that time the sea would crash into the coast sending huge plumes of water hundreds of feet into the darkened sky through the “blow holes”. It was wonderful! This painting calls to mind the power of the salty sea and its beauty.
Yes it went quickly Terry.
Nova Scotia does sound fabulous, with the white spray against the darkened sky, elemental! Of course I had in mind the shore of a land 3,000 miles across the ocean that you and Sandy know well and love 🙂
This one lifts me up John. Such energy and spirit, contrasts and harmony and the tinges of purple are lovely!
Hello Christine, thank you very much, yes I think the contrasts and harmony are where it’s at.
