Mist is shrouding the land, still and hushed.
Across the rolling hills, the patchwork of green fields are turning a muted blue turquoise and the dark, statue-like trees turn a deep indigo.
The welcoming lights come on, timid to start with, then becoming brighter as darkness falls.
They guide our eye on and upward across the land.
On the crest of the hill, the moon spreads its silver glow.
In the silent valley, we are standing still.
The earth is still too.
Time is passing.
The only movement is the globe of light moving skyward.

A beautifully reflective painting John and one in which time seems to stand still and yet we become conscious of its passing as the day draws to an end. You have got that atmosphere, that special time through the depiction of soft mists, shadows and changing colour as the light fades.
